What is Dual Enrollment at the Triton College Career Academies?
Want to take a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Course class that is not offered at Proviso East High School, Proviso West High School, or Proviso Math and Science Academy? Rising Juniors may have the opportunity to do so at the Triton College Career Academies. This is a semester-long/year-long commitment that can be repeated as desired. This opportunity is open to rising senior students.
- You may apply to take one of 15 CTE classes at the Triton College Career Academies with a Triton teacher.
- Your grades are shared with Proviso High Schools to ensure the successful completion of the course (either an A, B, or C).
- ALL of the tuition and fees are paid by the district upon successful completion of the course.
The 15 courses applicable are:
- Barber (at Triton College Career Academies for Rising Juniors/Seniors)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) (semester course, at Triton College Career Academies for Rising Juniors/Seniors)
- Cosmetology (at Triton College Career Academies for Rising Juniors/Seniors)
- Criminal Justice Administration (CJA) (at Triton College Career Academies for Rising Juniors/Seniors)
- Dental Assistant (at Triton College Career Academies for Rising Juniors/Seniors)
- Education (at Triton College Career Academies for Rising Juniors only)
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) (fall semester course only, at Triton College Career Academies for Rising Seniors only)
- EKG (at Triton College Career Academies for Rising Juniors/Seniors)
- Fire Science (at Triton College Career Academies for Rising Seniors only)
- HVAC (at Triton College Career Academies for Rising Seniors only)
- Optician (at Triton College Career Academies for Rising Juniors/Seniors)
- Physical Therapy Aide (at Triton College Career Academies for Rising Juniors/Seniors)
- Sports Conditioning (at Triton College Career Academies for Rising Juniors/Seniors)
- Sports Management (at Triton College Career Academies for Rising Juniors/Seniors)

Application Process for Dual Enrollment
- Student and parent/guardian attend Required Virtual Information Session for Dual Degree & Dual Enrollment - October 22, 2025
- Complete Microsoft Form application sent out by CTE/Early College Department - November 21, 2025
- All applicants' grades, attendance, credits earned, and behavior information is pulled and reviewed.
- Students will be notified after January 9, 2026, if they have been selected or wait-listed.
- January 16, 2026 is the due date to meet with a member of the CTE/Early College Department and to sign off on their authorization form and contract for SY2026-2027.

Signing up for the Dual Enrollment program has its perks and benefits:
• Transferable* college credit earned from an accredited institution (limitations may apply)
• Reduction of the number of college classes taken after high school graduation
• Utilization of college resources and services, including the library, computer and academic labs, and tutoring services
• Participation in college campus activities
• Access to campus facilities
