- Live in IUOE Local 150 Jurisdiction
- Valid, current driver's license
- Statement of physical ability to perform the work of an Operating Engineer from a physician
Entry Process: Apply at an IUOE Local 150 office location during the application period. Candidates will be evaluated based on prior skills, licenses, and experience. Candidates will be selected for a 5-day skills evaluation incorporating hands-on exercises and an oral interview.
Current openings: Applications for the Heavy Equipment Operators Apprenticeship will be open throughout October at District Council Halls and the Dugan Training Center in Wilmington. See the full schedule at https://local150.org/apply/. All halls and training centers will accept applications on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout October. Applications for Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Geothermal Well Driller Operators, and Construction and Building Inspector Apprenticeships are accepted year-round at District Halls and Dugan Training Center during regular business hours.

- Must be able to speak and understand the English language. (Classes are in English.)
- Must show the following two forms of identification (a valid driver’s license and a valid social security card are required).
Entry Process: Applications may be started online and completed at the training center at Indian Head Park, IL. Candidates must complete a drug test within 24 hours of receiving calls for work. Candidates will be assigned to a contractor based on work availability.

Entry Process: Submit your application to the Illinois Teamsters Employers Apprenticeship and Training Fund. Applicants must pass a drug and alcohol screening and obtain a medical examiner certificate per USDOT requirements. Accepted applicants will be required to take and pass the physical exam and the drug/alcohol test. Applicants may be subject to a physical agility or fitness test on acceptance into the program. Applicants may be subject to an aptitude test. Applicants must be fluent in English to participate in training.

Entry Process: The contractor must hire the candidate and complete a sponsorship application on the Laborers’ website. The contractor will make a good-faith effort to employ hired candidates for 2 years.

Entry Process: Applicants must apply in person at the JATC office in Joliet and bring a Driver's License, Birth Certificate, High School Transcripts (mailed to the JATC office), and GED Scores if applicable. Applications are accepted from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every Wednesday.
Current Openings: Application periods run until May 31st or November 30th each year for the following class. Applications are accepted year-round.

- ACT WorkKeys® Assessment Score Report with Scale Score for Applied Math, Workplace Documents, and Graphic Literacy dated within one year of the application date
Entry Process: Once a quarter of applicants are needed, applicants who submit the required documents and are within the top scores on the aptitude test will be rated and given all the information about where and when to appear for an interview. Applicants will then be added to a ranked list based on their interview. Applicants will need to pass a drug screening physical and physical agility evaluation to be eligible for employment. Applications are accepted year-round, and applicants will be reviewed each quarter. Ranks will change as additional applications are received.
Current Openings: Applications for the Building program are accepted year-round. Applications with contractor sponsorship are also accepted for the fencing program year-round.
