We value community input and hosted multiple community engagement sessions before finalizing the details of our Facilities Master Plan. The presentations from those sessions are housed here.

December 2017: Community Engagement Session #1
Session 1, December 5, 2017, at Proviso Math and Science Academy: Provided an overview of the process and shared guiding principles. Participants had an opportunity to review the guiding principles and provide input.

January 2018: Community Engagement Session #2
Session 2, January 23, 2018 at Proviso West High School: Process/Guiding Principles: A presentation was provided that included an analysis of the existing facilities physical and educational conditions, as well as the utilization of existing school facilities. Participants had an opportunity to ask questions and discuss future possibilities for each school. During this session, some community members asked the question, “Why do we have three facilities?”

February 2018: Community Engagement Session #3
Session 3, February 27, 2018 at Proviso East High School: Presented options based on feedback received by community participants at the January 23rd session, some of which included the possibility of closing certain facilities and/or relocating certain programs. The participants in this session had an opportunity to discuss, as community members, teachers, students and administrators the various options and provided input to the architectural team.

April 2018: Community Engagement Session #4
Session 4, April 24, 2018 at District Office: This session included an evaluation of master plan options. Based on feedback received at the previous engagement session, a series of options were presented for consideration and input. Participants discussed in small groups the opportunities and limitations of each option.
