Dr. Nicole Howard
-
Dr. Nicole N. Howard is an educator and leader dedicated to organizing schools for improvement and promoting the conditions under which optimal learning takes place for students and adults. She has 25 years of experience, and served successfully as a classroom teacher, mathematics department chair, principal, and chief academic officer before joining Proviso Township High Schools District 209 in 2017 as the Assistant Superintendent for Academics and Family Services. Dr. Howard is a firm believer that success is met when students are engaged, challenged, and supported in the classroom. She also believes that it is our collective responsibility to ensure students graduate from high school college and career ready. For these reasons, she has focused her work at Proviso Township High Schools on increased opportunities for students to learn coupled with increased social/emotional supports, improved professional development for teachers and administrators, and increased collaboration with foundation elementary schools, parents, community, and university partners.

The Office of Academics and Family Services believes that every student must graduate with the college, career, and life readiness to pursue the post-secondary path of his or her choice. We strive to continuously improve the guidance, leadership, training, resources, and supports provided to each of our high schools, to ensure each school:
- Implements a rigorous academic program, coupled with highly responsive interventions and social supports, that produce high levels of student proficiency.
- Provides multiple pathways to graduation that ensure global readiness for all students.
- Promotes our Learner Profile which consists of the academic, technical, and adaptive skills necessary for post-secondary success.
