Proviso Township High Schools District 209 has been developing a Facility Master Plan (FMP) through a collaborative process that provides a long-term framework for the future development of our educational facilities and funding needs-driven by equity, empowerment, and excellence. The FMP process was initiated in September 2017 with the purpose of establishing a long-term strategy that accomplishes the following:

    • Reflects community priorities and values
    • Projects future investments protecting the Districts assets
    • Establishes a timeline for proactive initiation and implementation
    • Maximizes taxpayer investment in education

The FMP has been led by architectural firm Perkins + Will. Perkins + Will has been a leader in educational design since 1935 and has successfully led over 2,500 pre-K to 12 projects globally. The architects have identified facility needs, completed demographic studies, utilization and capacity evaluations, facilities reports, conducted staff, student, and community surveys. Additionally, PTHS D209 has sought community input through several Community Engagement Sessions.

Perkins + Will has provided recommendations to the Board of Education based on the data that was gathered.
