About the Counseling Department
The counselor’s main job is to be the student’s advocate. Counselors are also the family’s main connection to get information about the school. You can call or email your student’s counselor for any questions or concerns, and they will be sure to help! The department provides individual, group, and classroom counseling. Students, parents, and guardians should use their counselor as their first point of contact for information regarding the following items:
-
Social/emotional counseling
-
Referral to community resources
-
Academic and four-year planning
-
Study skills and organization
-
College and scholarship information and applications
-
Career resources and information
-
Community service logs and locations
-
Standardized tests: PSAT, SAT, ACT, AP, IB
The counselors are available for students before and after school, and during lunch. We encourage students to make appointments during these times. Parents and guardians can call during regular school hours and email any time. Please call or email for appointments.
Receive Important Information from the Counselors through Remind
We invite all parents and students to sign up for our text messages! The counselors will periodically send text messages with important information regarding such things as college visits, community service opportunities, scholarship information, and more! This service is completely private. The only information the counselors see is your name. To receive text messages for your class, text the appropriate code to the number 81010.
