Summer School Information

Summer School Registration

Proviso District 209 is excited to offer Summer School for students looking to accelerate their learning, recover credits, or participate in enrichment opportunities. Whether your goal is to stay on track for graduation, get ahead, or engage in educational and recreational activities, we are here to support you!

Important Information

Please Note:

  • All summer school offerings are subject to enrollment and staffing availability.

  • Credit Recovery courses will be prioritized over all other programs.

Registration Information

  • Early Registration: Forms received by May 31, 2026, will require a $100 registration fee.

  • Late Registration: Forms received after May 31, 2026, will require a $125 late registration fee.

  • Log in to your PowerSchool account and click Forms on the left-hand side.

  • Complete and submit the 2026 Summer School Registration form.

 

Summer School Schedule

  • Days: Monday – Thursday (No school on Fridays)

  • Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Session 1: June 8, 2026 – June 25, 2026
Session 2: June 29, 2026 – July 16, 2026

Locations*

  • Proviso East High School

  • Proviso West High School

*PMSA Forest Park students will attend their designated home school (Proviso East or Proviso West).

COURSE OFFERINGS ORIGINAL CREDIT  

Original Credit courses are taken for the first time. Each course is worth 0.5 credit.  

Original credit course offerings include: Black History 365, Civics, Driver’s Education Classroom, and Behind the Wheel (BTW)*.  

Please Note: Students can take one semester course (0.5 credits) for Original Credit for each Summer School session. If you want to register your student for any program for Summer School, including Original Credit, please be sure to complete the registration form in PowerSchool. Click Forms and complete the 2026 Summer School Registration form. 

 * There will be an additional fee of $150 for Behind the Wheel. Behind the Wheel is a non-credit bearing course. 

CREDIT RECOVERY WITH SUBJECT 

Credit Recovery courses through Subject’s online platform are designed for students who did not successfully earn credit in the traditional classroom setting during the school year and failed the course.  

Credit Recovery core courses are offered in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Please Note: Students can take up to three online courses (1.5 credits) for Credit Recovery over the course of both Summer School sessions.  

If you want to register your student for any program for Summer School, including Credit Recovery, please be sure to complete the registration form in PowerSchool. Click Forms and complete the 2026 Summer School Registration form.  

ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES 

Enrichment Opportunities are designed to provide new skills in a fun, interactive environment. These are particularly exciting experiences for incoming 9th graders but are open to all students.  

Summer Band Camp – For students who would like further practice with their musical instrument and build connections with others with similar interests. No experience is necessary. All are welcome! 

Freshman Connection – Geared for 8th graders joining the Proviso family in the Fall, students engage in fun activities to help them prepare for high school. 

Newcomers Camp – For students who are new to the country and need support in preparing for academic and social life in America. Also for students who are currently receiving English Language (EL) services would like further support over the summer. What a great way to make new friends and develop your language skills! 

* All Enrichment Opportunities are non-credit bearing courses. 

SUMMER DRIVER EDUCATION

Registration is now open and available through PowerSchool. Click the link to register for the Summer 2026 Driver Education program. You may submit payment through our online payment system, eFunds.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Transportation: No bus transportation will be provided by Proviso Township for Summer School.

  • Food Service: Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all students attending Summer School.
