Proviso East/Summer Program 2020

Welcome to the Proviso East Summer Programs for 2020. We appreciate your willingness to continue the learning for our scholars. This guide contains important information. If you or your child believe they should attend extended learning this Summer please contact us.

Extended learning will be completely online through Edgenuity and Microsoft Teams where we will communicate directly with our students once enrolled.

Registration has been ongoing, and it will continue next week Monday, June 1 to Friday, June 5 from 8:00AM to Noon virtually. (Do not come to the school to register)

Programs

Recovery Courses & PCBE Extended School

The content and skills for recovery and PCBE courses will be delivered via Edgenuity. Students will have access to these courses 24-hours a day, 7 days per week during the session windows.

Summer School Graduation July 21, 2020 if large gatherings are permitted.

Schedule

Monday - Thursday. No class on Fridays.

8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Teachers and staff are required to be available to students via email, phone, and/or chat to provide regular feedback, timely response, and clear expectations regarding courses from 8:00 am – noon. Assessment unlocking should also occur within this timeframe.

 

A live chat window should be available each day for direct support and quick check-ins with students.

Role of Teacher

  • Promote student success through clear expectations, prompt responses, and regular feedback.
  • Utilize data daily to differentiate instruction and guide student learning.
  • Maintain availability via email, phone, and/or chat to provide regular feedback, timely response, and clear expectations regarding courses from 8:00 am – noon.
  • Respond to students with special needs or different learning styles.
  • Communicate progress to students and parents.
  • Place final course grade for each student in PowerSchool at the completion of each course.

Consumer Education

Courses will be delivered via Edgenuity. See expectations above in the Recovery Section.

 

Driver Education and New Extended Learning-Consumer Communications

These courses will be teacher driven. Content for Drivers Education will be housed in   Schoology. Content for New-Comers Communications will be delivered via I-Lit.
