January 14, 2020

The latest news and information from PTHS D209 will soon be available on smartphones and mobile devices with a new Mobile App launching on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. The PTHS D209 Mobile App will launch on the same day as Bring Your Parent to School Day. PTHS D209 district staff will be at each school during Bring Your Parents to School Day ready to assist parents with downloading the new Mobile App or with any questions they may have about staying connected to PTHS D209.

PTHS D209 is expanding its communications outreach with a mobile app that will soon be available in the online iTunes® and Google Play® app stores for free. The Department of Communications is committed to enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of its communications strategy by delivering messages through various communication platforms that are convenient and personalized. The mobile app will offer a constantly updated feed of district news and events with photos and links to the district’s website. The app can also be customized by the user by selecting the schools they are most interested in for news and updates. Users can also choose to receive push notifications to get breaking news, updates about school closures, calendar changes, or even sports updates.

“Ensuring that we communicate with students, parents, and community members through the channels they prefer is important to me. We know that people today look for information on their smartphones as such the new Mobile App will help our school community stay connected and engaged to D209 while also helping us reach them much faster with critical information,” said Dr. Jesse J. Rodriguez Superintendent of PTHS D209. Dr. Rodriguez added, “I encourage parents to participate in “Bring Your Parent to School Day” and download our new Mobile App as we continue to support our students at school and at home.”

"It is imperative for us to create optimal conditions for parental engagement while we expect parents to respond positively and promote excellence in education for all students," stated Board Member and Chair of the Parent Engagement Committee Rodney Alexander.
