Math & Science Academies

Three Selective Enrollment Academies. Distinct Academic Experiences.

Proviso Township High Schools District 209 offers three selective enrollment academies:

  • Proviso East Mathematics & Science Academy (PEMSA) – Maywood

  • Proviso West Mathematics & Science Academy (PWMSA) – Hillside

  • Proviso Mathematics & Science Academy (PMSA) – Forest Park

All three academies provide students with challenging Mathematics & Science Academy (MSA) coursework, advanced learning opportunities, and a strong foundation for college and career success.

PMSA offers a distinct academic experience. Unlike the MSA programs at Proviso East and Proviso West, PMSA is designed as a more rigorous and accelerated program. Students experience a faster academic pace, greater depth of study, and an intensive college-preparatory environment designed for students seeking an especially challenging academic experience.

Added Advantage

MSA coursework is weighted, providing students with an opportunity to earn a GPA boost that can strengthen their college and scholarship applications.

Students and families should consider the academic experience that best aligns with their goals, interests, and readiness for advanced coursework.
