May 2, 2014 08:55 AM
The Proviso West High School National Honor Society (NHS) inducted 21 new members at its spring ceremony on April 15 at Proviso West High School.

To be inducted into the National Honor Society, a student needs to have at least four semesters in which they earn a grade point average of at least 3.0 of a possible 4.0. The students who meet this criterion are then contacted and invited to submit an application in which they answer questions about their leadership skills and community service as well as write an essay on why they believe they should be inducted.

"This latest group of inductees into the National Honor Society represents some of the best that Proviso West High School has to offer," he said. "We are proud of our students, as they embody the values of strong academics, character, leadership, and service to the community that we stress in our school on a daily basis."
