Proviso West Graduates Mark Years of Achievement

May 28, 2015 02:55 PM
Nearly 400 members of the Proviso West High School Class of 2015 marked four years of success and achievement at their commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 23, at the UIC Pavilion.
The 389 seniors at Proviso West graduated with pomp and circumstance during the ceremonies as they celebrated the successful completion of high school and thanked those who had helped them get there.
Breanna Liddell, the class valedictorian, said that she learned from the obstacles and setbacks that came during her high school years, and encouraged her fellow graduates to do the same.
"Allow the trials you face to become learning experiences that can better equip you to go out and do your best so that the Class of 2015 can all make a mark on this world," she said. "Though this may be the end of the only life we have known, do not make it the end of your success. Allow your experiences here to propel you into the next phase of your life and to help you excel in all that you do past this point."
Patricia Vazquez, the class salutatorian, thanked her teachers and her parents for helping her to realize that she could be successful as she urged her classmates to strive for success.
"If it hadn't been for my teachers and friends who constantly pushed me and challenged me, I wouldn't be in this position right now," she said. "I hope that you go out there to conquer the world, make your dreams come true, and don't let anything hinder your success. Remember, you can achieve anything, if you set your mind to it."
Congratulations to the Proviso West Class of 2015!
