District 209 Students: Sign Up for Summer School

Students in Proviso Township High Schools District 209 wishing to take summer school can register beginning on Monday, March 28.
Summer school classes are scheduled to be held at Proviso Mathematics and Science Academy from June 6 through July 18, with the summer program divided between a first semester that will take place June 6 through June 23, and a second semester from June 27 through July 18, with all classes taking place between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Summer school components will be credit recovery; enrichment courses including the college tour, summer reading, and acceleration courses with prior approval; and freshman transition for incoming freshmen.
Students can register for first semester summer courses March 28 through May 31, with students allowed to take two courses during the summer, though only one course per session. The cost to families will be $100 per half credit and $175 for summer school driver’s education. Registration for second semester summer courses will take place between June 5 and June 19.
A student who is registered for a summer school course and does not plan to attend must withdraw by May 31, 2016. They will receive a refund by mail of tuition for summer school less any outstanding fees that are owed to the District. Students who do not withdraw and do not attend the class will not receive a tuition refund. Students who register for summer school should plan to attend every day.
Graduation for members of the Class of 2016 who take summer classes will be on Monday, July 18, at 6 p.m. in the PMSA Auditorium.
