Students in Proviso Township High Schools District 209 wishing to take summer school can register now.
Students wishing to take classes for summer school need to register before the end of the day on Friday, June 5, in order to take summer classes. Summer school classes will run from June 8 through July 9 from 8 a.m. to 1:10 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Parents are encouraged to sign up their students for summer school as soon as possible to help with determining class sizes.
Offerings for summer school will be credit recovery and enrichment activities such as the college tour, band camps, summer reading, and acceleration courses for credit with prior approval. The summer reading and acceleration courses will be held at Proviso Mathematics and Science Academy. All students taking credit recovery classes will go to Proviso East High School regardless of attendance area due to construction at Proviso West High School. In addition, the freshman summer support program also will take place at Proviso East, regardless of attendance area.
The summer school fee is $100 per half-credit for all courses for in-district students. Drivers’ Education behind the wheel is $175. All fees must be paid in advance. Session I will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Session II will be held from 10:40 a.m. to 1:10 p.m.
