With the 15th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, D.C., this year, the advanced choir at Proviso Mathematics and Science Academy honored America with a "Random Act of Culture."
Three times on Friday, September 9, the final school day before the anniversary, the approximately 30 students in the advanced choir gathered together on the first, third, and fifth floor and sang the "Star-Spangled Banner." Mr. Matt Brown, PMSA choir director, said that the singing of the National Anthem was to honor the nearly 3,000 people who died in the attacks 15 years ago.
