Automotive students at Proviso East High School are competing in the Quaker State Best in Class Challenge nationwide competition, and they need your votes to move on.

magazine, high school automotive classes from across the country are competing to which class can best tune, restore, and customize a $3,000 used car into a "a fine-tuned, pristine, and exceedingly cool ride," according to the website. Classes can advanced in one of five markets (Atlanta, Georgia; Charlotte, North Carolina; Northern New Jerseyl Orlando, Florida; and Chicago, in which Proviso East is competing) based on the number of votes. "This is an excellent opportunity for our students," said Dr. Patrick Hardy, principal at Proviso East. "I urge our students, teachers, staff, community members, and our other supporters to visit the website and vote for our students."
Votes can be cast in the contest now through Monday, September 27, at Popular Mechanics’ website
. The finalists from each of the five competing markets will then compete in more voting between October 12 and November 23.
