Board of Education members from Proviso Township High Schools District 209 and area elementary school districts will meet at a joint articulation meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 21, at the District 209 offices at PMSA, 8601 West Roosevelt Road in Forest Park.
The school board members will discuss issues of common interest at the summit. This includes particular focus on the preparation of students who move on from the feeder schools to Proviso East High School, Proviso West High School, and Proviso Mathematics and Science Academy. The attendees also will examine ways that all of the districts can work together to support each other in serving Proviso Township students.
"This summit is an excellent opportunity for Boards of Education in Proviso Township to come together and work together on issues that affect all of us," said Dr. Nettie Collins-Hart, superintendent of District 209. "We expect to come out of this meeting with a greater understanding of the needs of all of our school districts and a better understanding of how we can work together to meet those needs."
Expected to attend the meeting are Board of Education members from District 209, Berkeley School District 87, Bellwood School District 88, Maywood-Melrose Park-Broadview School District 89, Forest Park School District 91, Lindop School District 92, Westchester Public Schools District 92.5, and Hillside School District 93. Community members and parents with students in all represented school districts are invited to attend to learn more about how the community can work together to provide a quality education for Proviso Township students.
