Proviso East, Proviso West Boys Earn All-Conference, All-Area, All-State Basketball Honors

Six players from the Proviso East High School and Proviso West High School boys’ basketball teams have received postseason honors, including all-state, all-area, and all-academic honors.
Antonio Williams, a senior guard at Proviso East, was named third team all-state on the 2015-2016 all-state team as well as to the Chicago Sun-Times
’ all-area team. He also was named to the West Suburban Conference all-conference team after leading the Pirates to a 19-8 record and a regional championship this past season. The Sun-Times
had this to say about Antonio:
"Terrific athlete burst onto the scene out of nowhere. Led Pirates to 18-9. All-Conference selection in West Suburban, Second Team All-Tournament at Proviso West. Averaged 24 points, six rebounds, four assists, three steals."
Also named to the West Suburban Conference Gold Division all-conference team was TaJuan Johnson, a senior forward at Proviso East.
The Proviso West boys’ basketball team also had its postseason honors from its 2015-2016 team.
Emanuel Cross, a junior guard, and Liddell Davis, a senior forward, were both named to the West Suburban Conference Silver Division all-conference team. In addition, Dennis Bryant, a senior guard, and Cameron Boyd, a senior guard, were named to the West Suburban Conference’s all-academic team.
Dr. Nettie Collins-Hart, superintendent of District 209, said that the boys deserved the honors that they have received.
"The boys have been great assets to their respective basketball programs and role models for other students at Proviso East and Proviso West," he said. "We are proud of them, and we look forward to further good things from them."
