U.S. News & World Report Awards Silver Medal to PMSA

On April 25, 2017 U.S. News & World Report published the 2017 Best High Schools rankings report. Proviso Mathematics and Science Academy (PMSA) continues its trend of accolades as it is named in the 2017 ‘U.S. News Best High Schools Rankings.’  PMSA ranked 32 of 658 Illinois high schools and nationally, at 1,044 awarding the school a Silver medal, climbing up from last year’s Bronze medal.
U.S. News ranking includes data on 28,496 public high schools. Schools were awarded, Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments and how well schools prepare students for college.
Dr. Bessie Karvelas, principal of PMSA, has been working diligently to ensure the academic success of all students. Dr. Karvelas stated, "We are elated with the 2017 ranking. These wonderful results would not have been possible without our teachers and students who continue to be proud of their school and their accomplishments. We could not have accomplished this without our committed faculty, leadership team and devoted parents. We are not stopping here; we are going for the Gold!"
Superintendent of Proviso Township High Schools District 209 (PTHS D.209) Jesse J. Rodriguez, Ph.D., said, "We are proud of our school community’s commitment to academic excellence as it continues to demonstrate high levels of educational attainment. The designation shows, once again, the potential of PTHS D.209. We are Proviso Proud,"
PTHS D.209 congratulates PMSA, Dr. Karvelas, faculty, students, and administration for your continued academic success.
