Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is inviting parents and the community to take another look at Proviso East High School, Proviso West High School, and Proviso Math and Science Academy. This is an ongoing part of the Board of Education’s goal for more outreach to the community.
Beginning in November, the schools will host tours of their buildings one day a month. Visitors will be able to learn more about the school, visit classrooms and other student areas, and get a glimpse of the education that takes place at the school.
The tours are part of the District’s "Take Another Look" campaign. The goal of the campaign is to further efforts to get the good news out about Proviso East, Proviso West, and PMSA, and to present a positive image of the schools.
"There are good things happening in our schools on a daily basis," said Dr. Nettie Collins-Hart, superintendent of District 209. "However, the community at large may not recently have seen that, so we invite them to see for themselves the good that is occurring every day. I am certain that they will come away with a more positive outlook of what our students, teachers, and staff are doing to improve student achievement and the overall education of our students."
The campaign also will include promotional videos that will be shown on outlets such as YouTube and during events shown on High School Cube and elsewhere.
Be on the lookout for when the dates are announced for the first tours at Proviso East, Proviso West, and PMSA.
