Forest Park, IL...Students from the Proviso Math and Science Academy had a chance to show a little holiday spirit to faculty and staff with a roaming show on December 13.
Led by Matt Brown, PMSA choir director, the students performed traditional and more recent Christmas songs such as "Sleigh Ride," "Carol of the Bells," and "Baby It’s Cold Outside" for school and district workers based in their school building. The students performed in the school’s main office as well as the district’s business, human resources and administrative offices. It was the fifth year that PMSA choir students have performed the holiday music in the halls and offices.
"We did it mainly for the adults in the building," Brown said. "They were glad we did it. People anticipate it every year."
The students had learned and performed the songs for their winter concert on November 15, Brown said, so they were ready to perform them on the last full day of classes before semester finals and Winter Break began.
"We just keep the songs alive for the next couple of weeks," Brown said. "I think the ultimate goal is to spread some holiday cheer before we go on break."
