PTHS 209 Celebrates Marine Week with the United States Marine Corp
Forest Park, IL... This week Proviso Township High Schools District 209 was visited by the United States Marine Corps (U.S.M.C.) where members of the military branch spoke with students about their roles as marines, and the Marine Corps’ core values—honor, courage, and commitment.
“This week the Marines are invading Chicago in celebration of Marine Week,” said Master Sergeant Alain Reyes. “Our whole purpose is to let people know that we have a place—not only to serve our country, but also to serve our communities.”
The U.S.M.C. brought a range of activities to Proviso Township High Schools. The students were visited by the Marine Corps Boxing Team where students learned boxing techniques and endurance exercises. Proviso East High School hosted a set of performances by the United States Marine Corps Woodwind Band.
To end the week Marine Corps helicopter pilots conducted flight landings at Proviso East and Proviso West High Schools.
