Forest Park, IL...Proviso Township High Schools is currently seeking board members for PTHS 209’s Foundation for Educational Excellence.
The Foundation was formed to raise, attract, and direct public financial contributions to programs and in support of PTHS students.
The Foundation’s goals are to help provide effective opportunities for all students to learn, grow, and develop in their specific areas of interest; to attract, support and recognize teachers for innovative efforts and exemplary teaching, to increase public awareness and strengthen confidence in each school, and to engage the community in assuring a quality education for the leaders of tomorrow.
The district is soliciting applications from parents, alumni, retirees, and community members to help support PTHS and the overall community. There are currently nine openings for the Board of Directors, which serves as the leadership and base of the organization.
“The contribution of time, talent, and treasure by members of the community in support of the school system will help make our schools stronger centers for learning, growth, and community activity,” said PTHS 209 Superintendent Dr. Nettie Collins-Hart. “We need a strong group of individuals to lend their time and their talents to help support our schools and our students. We are cordially inviting community members and stakeholders to be a part of the foundation that will keep Proviso rising”
All funds and initiatives will be used to facilitate student achievement and skill development, and also to expand community involvement from individuals, businesses and civic organizations.
