Internship Alert: Bank of America Student Leaders Program Now Accepting Applications for Paid Internship Opportunity

Forest Park, IL...Bank of America is now looking for new students to enroll in its Neighborhood Excellence Student Leaders Program. The program offers students an 8-week paid internship that includes leadership mentoring to help develop students’ life skills, strengthen their overall understanding of civic responsibility, and bolster their commitment and efforts to improve their communities.
"As part of our commitment to strengthening communities through lending, investing and giving, Bank of America is looking for tomorrow’s community leaders today," said Bank of America representative, Jennifer Streder. "We would like to identify outstanding young people who are passionate about making a difference in the community."
Since the program’s inception in 2004, Bank of America has recognized more than 1,600 high school students as Student Leaders who have exhibited passion for improving their communities. All eligible Proviso Township High Schools students are encouraged to apply.
Selected Student Leaders participate in a paid summer internship with a local nonprofit organization and a week long, all-expense paid Student Leadership Summit in Washington, DC provided by Bank of America.
The nonprofit internship and Student Leadership Summit expose students to leadership aspects in civic, nonprofit and business arenas. Applications for the Neighborhood Excellence Student Leaders Program are accepted from November 1 until January 25, 2012 (8 p.m. Eastern Time).
To be considered as a Student Leader, you must:
- Currently be a junior or senior in high school
- Be able to participate in a week-long Student Leadership Summit in Washington, DC (July)
- Be able to participate in an 8-week paid internship at a local charitable organization
- Be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- Be a student in good standing at his/her school
- Apply to be a Student Leader
